Towers and views

We are in south germany. Freiburg, a university town, next to the black forest (a large public park covering many, many square miles). On our first day here, Boris took us up to a tower on a hill, where we got a really great view of the town. Since then we've been visiting the places we've seen from the tower. I don't think the view from above really helped us navigate, but it does give you a sense of deja vu the first time you arrive somewhere on foot!

As you can see climbing the tower was no small task - 30 meters tall, and up at the very top it swung back and forth in the wind very perceptably. It was raining a little too. Very worth it, though. I'm happy to report that Jymm enjoyed it too! Yay for conquering fear of heights. At the very top of the tower there is a little platform you can climb up onto which is another 10 feet above everything else, which shakes and swings in the wind 10 times worse than the platform below. I was able to make it up there, but had to come back down a few seconds later. 10 extra feet didn't make for that much better a view though.
